Flowers and Insects

Here are a few of my favorite images of flowers and insects. This first image was actually not a planned image. I was trying to capture the water droplets hanging on the petals of this Black Eyed Susan. I framed the image in my viewfinder and just as a snapped the button for the shutter the little bee zoomed right in. I have to say that it makes the image that much better.

"Water drops & a wee Bee."

 "Monarch"
I had taken several images of this butterfly on the flower when it finally opened its wings wide for me. Thankfully it stayed in place long enough for me to capture them open.

"Buzzing Bee"
This was another image that I worked to get. I was taking photos of other things in the area of this group of flowers. I noticed the bees zooming around out of the corner of my eye. As I moved the camera to snap a photo of the bee on the flower he zoomed off. I waited patiently and he returned and I was able to snap my photo.

"Dragonflies on the Lilly Pad Pond"
This last image was taken on a Lilly Pond. I was across the pond trying to get some great shots of the Lilly Pads (those are another post) when my daughter noticed the two dragonflies. I quickly made my way to the other side trying not to disturb them. They landed just so and I was able to capture this great image. You can tell that the dragonfly on the left was starting to move again because his wings are a tad blurry.

Remember, if there are images you see on here that really like you can contact me at kgrussellphoto@yahoo.com for purchasing details.
